The Godking's Legacy follows a delusional squirrel beastkin who receives (wait for it) the Godking's Legacy. Well, the Godking's sword anyway. And some training.

I think what makes this story so much fun to read, is that most of it is told from the perspective of Lucia, the squirrel-kin. She notices enough details to clue herself and the reader in on what's actually happening, but willfully ignores the implications of it. Every now and then we get a perspective change that more explicitly states what's actually going on. Sometimes, I have to wonder if Lucia knows how talented and powerful she actually is.

Or maybe I'm overthinking it. Either way, it's an entertaining read that makes (some) fun of the Wuxia/Xianxia genres.

Psychopathic Super Squirrel Girl

Officially my Favorite Author on Royal Road.

This story is so amazingly funny good that I can't give an unbiased review so none of my usual ratings, just check the stars.

The MC of this story is by far my favorite of all MCs of all stories with the exclusion of Kvothe from The King Killer series by Patrick Rothfuss (and he only wins because Mr. Rothfuss is a literary genius). She's a psychopath in a very literal definition, but she's a funny psychopath that we get to see the inner workings of. She absolutely thinks that there's nothing wrong with what she does, everything is everyone else's fault or responsibility. If this was dungeons and dragons she would definitely be Chaotic Neutral, just doing things to satisfy herself, her goals, or because something seems like a good idea at the time.

She's the best.

You can't do this to me!!!!! Don't leave me on such a huge cliff!!!! Evil!!!

There is only one review for this amazing story ?

One sentence to describe it: a realy fun comedy with amazing characters.

The only downside: sometimes the story is a bit slow (ex: the training with Durendal seems loooong to me.), and sometimes it's too fast...

If you like the other stories from Virlyce you will probably love this one too.

Great Story to binge (Vol1)

Started reading this story at 1 AM, as I wanted to go to sleep after a few chapters. Ended up binge reading it til 8 AM, when I finished the last chapter of Volume 1.

Some minor spoilers.

Overall really great story, gives you a few different viewpoints on the world, with vastly different viewpoints. One of the few Royalroadl stories I legitimately found myself laughing to every couple of chapters due to the hilarious nature of some of the situations or the way some characters thought.

Characters are all pretty good, although near the end of volume 1 some of the situations seemed a bit too hasty, and kind of stifled character narrative. In particular Durandal and Lucia seemed a bit stifled, as Durandal didn't really get much exposure, while Lucia kind of just blunt forced through everything.

Story suffers from the same part at the end, as it just seems a bit too hasty near the end of volume 1, otherwise it was great for the most part. Pacing can be a bit of an issue at times as well, as some parts are lightning fast, while other parts (more near the beginning) are a tad slow.

Style gives us different viewpoints from I think about 6 characters, although some of them are rather short. Keeps the story well rounded quite well, as we see the world from different perspectives constantly. Some funny, some serious, some paranoid, etc.

Grammar, in my hasty reading I might have missed some errors, but overall the author is obviously quite fluent in english, and makes little to no mistakes in this book from what I saw.

Definitely deserving a read for basically any RRL readers!

A fairly entartaining adventure/comedy book with overpowered MC. However, I don't think I've ever read a book with MC more disgusting than in here. She's dumb, dismissive about everything that isn't her and hers, falsely self-righteous, self-delusional, greedy and bossy. I guess author emulated thought process and character development of a simpleton quite well? I'm not sure why anyone would want that as a main character however.

The Mad Squirrel with a Sword.

We start with the slow cultivation story of a squirrel beastkin under the cliche spirit teacher from the previous era.

After not even 15 chapters, we have a mad swordsman forged by a path of slaughter, the fact that her white dress is not only red from blood, but it seems a red dress dirty from blood, is clear sign of her unrelenting way.

I extremelly appreciate that even the story becomes fast, faster and faster, maniacally so.

The history of a delusional, bloody , perverted squirrel is all I didn't know I needed.

This novel contains the genres that people normally don't mix. It's not because they are unmixable, but more like most people don't have enough ideas to combine them, like romance and martial arts. Honestly, this is a masterpiece.

The only problem I have is more personal than anything, it's a little hard to say properly too...

Can they fucking kiss already?

You know who I'm talking about. I wanna see kisses, and then maybe some other action, and some feeling. And then more kissing.
