"I’ve grown much too old for this

Years have left and women have died

They gave their lives for this

It’s all for you, meus fillos

Years have left and women have died

I’m no longer strong enough

It’s all for you, meus fillos

They gave their lives for my vision

I’m no longer strong enough

The world will end soon enough

They gave their lives for my vision

Things will be the way they should be

The world will end soon enough

So take this final gift

Things will be the way they should be

Boa sorte, meus fillos."

Folding the parchment back to its original unread condition, the Eldest nodded; answering to nobody, really. Father was gone. Who knew when he'd return? Given his nature, he almost certainly will return, be it in a hundred years or a thousand years. But could she keep things afloat during that time?

He mentioned a gift, but provided nothing with his message. What was he playing at? Leaving his children empty-handed like that? He didn't raise a bunch of idiots, so what was this game of his? Perhaps he hid the gift in his quarters somewhere?

Under his bed?

In his wardrobe?

In his desk?

But the Eldest then heard a loud, obnoxious sound. Not from the message, mind you. Hell, this sound wasn't even present in her home. Rather, the sound came from above. She then knew that this sound was almost directly over the entryway to her world. Somebody was knocking on the front door, but using a hammer instead of their fist.

She wanted to be angry, but she couldn't help but smile instead. Aha! Father hadn't left the gift here, but elsewhere. She gathered the pieces of what she was to do. She clapped her hands, summoning her other five siblings to face her. She laughed wickedly.

Let's open Father's gift, shall we?”
