Delightful, that is the only thing I need to write, it is fun; it is entertaining; the writing is pleasing to my eye, and it has a suitable length, the 350k words are comprehendible, the plot is nice, all in all, good quirky LITRPG.
It is a work of art, on the level of Vaudevillain.
Never really knew I wanted to read about a teddy bear until this. Seriously, you've got goblins, sneks, doggos and all sorts running around in litRPG nowadays, but you wouldn't think the adventures of a teddy bear that isn't some reincarnated human would be so readable.
After reading Threadbare I will be following this author, and buying Threadbare on Amazon. This book constantly surprises, in a good way. Just when you think you have the plot and characters figured out the Author does some clever and unexpected plot-fu and the story becomes even more interesting, the stage becomes larger, the characters deeper. Just finished the portion here on RoyalRoad and am already thinking about rereading it. I have 84 individual books in my ebook library that I've tagged LitRPG (20 series and a few standalones), and this one is top tier in quality of writing and depth of plot/world-building. Very well done.
It's fun, it's sweet, the game is going to be a blast, not much else to say. Read it!
A bit late to the party, but I recently finished all of Threadbare, and thoroughly enjoyed the series. The only annoying bit was that I ended up reading quite a bit into some of the final bits before finding out that there is actually side stories that even further expand on the world. So I got some minor spoilers on some characters, but I still loved their stories even when I went to read them.
The entire series has several things going for it, first off being characters, because when you are told it is a fluffy teddy bear golem as the main character, you get this little guy who will stop at nothing to make sure his little girl is safe. He doesn't always get everything, he doesn't always have the right answer, and sometimes his logic is horribly skewed due to being a toy and a golem, but his heart is always there. Which simply leads to amazing character development over time, as well as how he interacts with everyone else.
Style is another good point of the series, as there is a wonderful treasure trove to pull from. You've got DnD classes, you've got species, you've got adventure, and you've got a little bear ready to take on the world. Oh, and tea parties. Because you can never have a good adventure without tea parties.
Grammar, there are the occasional hiccups, small spelling errors, and little errors where a period is accidentally replaced with a slash. However, these are few and far between, and you're caught up with the story that you rarely notice.
The big one though, has to be the story, which I love entirely, though I do have a few issues with it. After the first volume, there is a tonal shift, however, if you continue to read, the series does get back to something that is wonderful. It's like eating a good cake with less than stellar frosting inbetween the layers. You keep eating because a small interruption of enjoyment does not sour the entire enjoyment, it just makes the next layer of cake all the more sweeter when you get back to it.
Overall, the entire story is amazing, and add in the other two fictions, it is a wonderful series. Just, maybe don't read Volume 3 until you finish up the other two fictions, Small Medium and then Dragon Hack. Accidental spoilers aren't always fun to experience.
superbly written, awesome plot, awesome characters, and a dash of humor. Found it 3 days ago and i couldn’t put it down
Read the first chapter, and already hooked! And I don't even know what the bear's name is going to be!
Very original premise. I remember having a teddy bear as a little boy, and he went on all my adventures with me.
It's great to find a story i can share with my grandkids.
I'll buy the series on Amazon.
The heart warming tale of a teddy bear setting out on an adventure to save a little girl with the powers of friendship, puns, love, and necromancy.
Dear author:
YOU DEGENERATE! How dare you pull off something like that! Those puns were concocted from eldrich stuff! RACCAT?! You should be ashamed of yourself!
Your loving fan, Morossati.

The real review:
As I said in the title, it is a wholesome, neat story.
I love the fairy-tail atmosphere that Andrew built in those first chapters, with the cabin in the woods, the living toys, the cat, and the rat-king. From there the transition to "modern" fantasy was seamless and all the plot points were well timed and executed.
I didn't feel the story dragged for a second, and I liked very much how he managed to integrate the LTRPG elements into the actual story. Not just for benchmarking, or as cosmetic for the character's powersets.
I have nothing but praises for the guy... Well, if we ignore some of those puns... God...
It was a good adventure while it lasted. It’s bittersweet. It’s so brilliant that you feel a rush of enjoyment on every word.p, but once it’s done, you’re brought to tears.
