Loner. Outcast. Villain.

Jason logs into Awaken Online fed-up with reality. He's in desperate need of an escape, and this game is his ticket to finally feeling the type of power and freedom that are so sorely lacking in his real life.

Awaken Online is a brand new virtual reality game that just hit the market, promising an unprecedented level of immersion. Yet Jason quickly finds himself pushed down a path he didn't expect. In this game, he isn't the hero. There are no damsels to save. There are no bad guys to vanquish.

In fact, he might just be the villain.

Nice story and concept so far

Actually the first story that made me want to write a “review”.

Very good concept and grammar. MC is not really “OP” because he follows the rules of this peculiar VRMMO world.

Just a piece of advice.. if he is able to achieve power in this way, he shouldn’t be the only one. It’s not like he’s the only player in the world who’s smart, or able to notice the tricks that allow him to take down stronger opponents.

Anyway, keep un the good work!

I WANT MORE! The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars is because of my own personal views. I don't see or understand how Riley drinking alcohol would affect the father's self-help book business. In fact, I think they could turn it into a big promotion. He forces her to read it and boom it worked she no longer drinks.

So I read this series off of Amazon, but this is the series that originally got me interested in the LitRPG genre, and ultimitely what led me to this website. Thanks for writing!

It's dark, the mc is relatable, and unlike most litRPG on RRL, it has an actual story that sucks you in.

Edit: Unfortunately, since the author made the book available on kindle unlimited (a amazon service that lets you read ebooks for a subscription fee) they were forced to take down all book 1 chapters past chapter 4.

Fortunately the rest of the book is pretty cheap, and is worth the price

Amazing, Well Worth Reading

This story is win, pure and simple.  It starts off small and builds quickly and smoothly into something larger. I binged through the story in a day and enjoyed the ride.

The characters are multifaceted and experience real growth while facing their flaws and the flaws of those around them.

The game system is interesting is well thought and it is quite that the main character's power comes from skill and intelligence rather that an overpowered deus ex machina. The skill rank up text could use some editing and continuity management but as a whole it is presented in a manner that adds to the story and understanding of the main character's abilities without being distracting.
