Rainer, an amateur arcanist and college student, sought to create a new spell far surpassing the magic of the few he inherited from his grandfather. Yet the interference of an unknown event during the casting of his spell led him to be thrown through space and time.

Where status screens were accepted as normal and class distinctions were quite clear. Leveling and achieving a class beyond a simple farmer or peddler was an affair of life and death combined with years of hard training. Goblins were not the fodder that they should be, orcs filled bedtime stories in order to scare children into behaving, and a dragon? You might as well pack up and move to another country.

He, however, enters this world with the rare and powerful class of the Arcanist. How will the recently ardent seeker of magic find greater heights, or will he land in deeper depths?

A magic scholar on a journey to master his study.

Unlike in most stories where the protagonist ends up in another world he did so thanks to his own power and not a plot device summoning that just happens for no reason other than to allow the plot to take plce. Even if it was not intentional it opens up a lot of potentional directions this story can take from there that would not be possible with the cookie cutter plot devices.

The MC has the perfect mindset for a great story of magic study and adventure, he doesnt lack determination in pursuit of his goal and the most important : he does have a goal.

With a good balance of righteousness and ruthlessness the MC is not overly cruel or softhearted and makes the right choices to survive in a ruthless world while coming out on top in a conflict. He is neither the hero nor the demon lord but has his own designs on what to do with the world he ended up traveling to.

His companions are a rare mix of individuals that promise a lot of trouble due to their background , perfect for keeping the action running wherever he goes. Their personalities are authentic and diverse enough to make even casual conversations entertaining and their interaction doesn't get dull or repetitive.

Overall its an interesting story that hooked me since the first chapter and hasn't let me down ever since. The only reason I'm giving  4.5 stars to the story score and not 5 is because his ability to learn in his sleep is on one hand unique but on the other hand quite lazy and overpowered. His goal is the mastery of magic and all he has to do for that is sleep.

Edit after chapter 25: changed score to 5 , MC doesnt get the easy way out of training for the more difficult spells anymore and gets off his lazy behind to actually train.

The only flaw in this novel is (sometimes) the use of verbs and minor grammar mistakes. Overall 4.5/5.

Best story on RRL at the moment.

Overall this fiction is excellent

The characters are really well made: the MC isn't the type of character that thinks that he can do anything on his own, the romance between him and the female character is not forced or too sudden as they risk their lifes for each other time and again, the other characters that help him have their own unique personalities and they are not dumped like a lot of authors like to do with the side characters

The grammar has little to no issues and it is very easy and smooth to read it

Now onto the most important thing, the plot: It is very well made, the MC's unique power does not make him the most overpowered character in the story as he always faces enemies stronger than him, the fights are good but sometimes it ends so fast that it I couldn't feel the climax of the battle, the MC's past is not that clear yet, but I feel that the author is doing something about it and although the concept of the story is almost the same as other novels and fictions I read, this story is lot better than those, because the plot is carefully made and the everything within the story are linked

some final notes: I just don't understand how the MC (who is not known to have and incedible mana-pool in the story) could teleport to another world with some accident in his experiments without dying or entering in a coma because of mana depletion

I love this, all of it. It is just my kind of story. I've been reading all day, the first thirty chapters actually, I'll admit I was a bit sad when I saw that I have almost reached the end of all that you have published. That said, the amount of work you put out every week is awe-inspiring, especially considering the quality of what you publish. Keep up the awesome work.

Yes. A perfect score.

It's deserving though, in my opinion, as each base is thoroughly covered.

The story, whilst it began did not have a goal for our protagonist, gains one that is intriguing to imagine coming to fruition, along with the absurdity that is his power. Not absurd as in funny or outlandish, but absurd as in everyone knows he's a cheat. Not an always will win cheat, but an exp sponge growth.

As for characters, yet to meet a one dimensional character aside from the very rare arrogant noble, though even then there's a little more depth to them than is usually given.

Grammar is impeccable, and the words flow nicely.

Style is agreeable, as the words elicit visions and thoughts from the descriptions with ease.

All in all, this is a very well done story, that is highly deserving of its spot on the Top-Rated List.

Curious mage in a magical world

One of the best novels I've read.

The characters feel verry alive and the way the MC acts and reacts to his enviroment is really belivable. The characters are well written ant they are unique and there is a good amount of info in presentating them to give you an understanding about them.

The pace is good and keeps you immersed in the story and you always want to get that next chapter as soon as possible. Tho you know that the wait is worth it.

The mindsett the MC has about magic and his curiosity about everything magical is wonderful to read about and this is one of the main reasons I look forward to the next chapter. What new magics will he find/develop and how will he use them?

I will start with the one and only problem this story has, well it has a lot of problems if you hate OP characters and what not, but I like them so it only has one issue... The only thing this story does wrong is that the system used in this story makes introducing new characters extremely difficult. I mean lets be honest, it takes 99.99999% of the population years just to level a single ability or skill to level 3, a lifetime to reach level 5, several to go beyond that, and yet any new characters are either going to have to be unrealistic based on the world setting we already established, extremely old bastards clinging to life, or be miracle leveled and OPified by the MCs strange arcane methods.

The story does everything else right.
