Arwyn has just bought Fantasia, the first fantasy-based VRMMORPG, with 99% realism that you can play while you sleep. In the game, she becomes Fey, a moon elf starting in the magical Elvenwood. Join her (and her snarky narrator who likes to interject sarcastic comments in parentheses) on her exciting, often hilarious adventures inside this magical world full of every fantasy creature you've ever encountered in books, games, and movies, and a few that you haven't.

Oh, and there's something strange about the NPCs in this game... See if you can figure it out before Fey does. (No, they are not self-aware AIs.)

Chapters 1-27 of Fantasia have been edited and republished as an ebook and audiobook, available on Amazon/Kindle Unlimited and Audible https://www.royalroad.com/amazon/B0C44SGHXW Ongoing chapters of the webserial will continue to be released for free.

Crazy fun. The author may, or may not have multiple personalities (no judgement ;))but both of them are funny and the end result is a really easy to read  LitRpg.

Definitely lighter than a lot of LitRpg's around here, no breakdown of stats or character sheets, which actually makes a nice change.

Overall it's really worth taking a chance on.

Great story to read if you're bored

The MC keeps doing interesting things and having interesting interactions with the people and things around her.

The writing is good and it's not hard to recall enough about the story to enjoy it.

Easy to read, enyjoyable.

Not the normal stuff you get with fanfics but part of the 10% that actually is as awesome as professional stuff.

I must say that I really REALLY like this story.

- The separation of POV was a little sketchy at first but she (the author) learned how to clear things up as the chapters went on. The speech is a mix between formal and informal and it resonates with me as well as defines who the MC is as a character.

I LOVE the idea of the parentheses narrator and this story wouldn't be the same without it. That secondary narrator enhances the light tone that is great for relieving a heart of stress born by some of the more serious stories I also like to read.

- Story-wise it's pretty free flowing and there's not really a set goal that absolutely must be done for the fate of the world. The comedy is perfect for those with fondness for puns, awkwardness (that doesn't go too far), and random things coming at you randomly from random places. The randomness doesn't even mess with the flow of the story because the flow itself is just so flexible that the most nonsensical events could take place and the reader wouldn't be surprised.

I hear that a lot of people consider the angel character as a cheat because he's helps the MC out but the story isn't about becoming the best player in the game and defeating the 'demon lord' or something like that. From what I've gathered the story is about shenanigans and Fey making everyone's lives better just by being herself (which includes the life of a super-high-level angel). Sure, everyone wants to get as strong as they can and level up as much as they can in a game but there are a lot of light novels where even the MC consider themselves a 'cheat character'. I don't see what the big deal is about someone who helps her gain exp because of politeness, Blade does the same thing and she does the same for others.

There ARE times when I just wish that the MC would get back online but something keeps me thinking that she'll meet someone from her friends list offline if I just believe.

*sings* ~ no matter how your heart is grieving ~ if you keep on believing ~ the dream that you wish will come true~

- The grammar is to the point that you feel like you've been in a molded, musty, suspicious smelling cellar for a fortnight to be released into a freshly watered garden where the gentle scents of the floral inhabitants embrace you in a warm breeze while butterflies perch on your fingers like they're leading you further into Eden (I'm one of THOSE people).

- I really relate to the main character in a few ways that are so similar to my own situation that it's on the verge of being creepy (so you can already tell that I like the MC).

On a more serious note, the other 'player' characters are amusing as well; the amusement comes from how they clash or support each other rather than their individual personalities. You can also easily identify the personalities of a couple of characters from only a few words and sentences; yet, even though they begin as basic stereotypes some err from that path due to continuous experience with the MC.

-I love reading the author's notes because you can get a sense of her personality.

-As I have read from said author's notes (since I just finished 40+ chapters in a couple days) the new chapters are uploaded sporadically (haha, spore - you'd get it if you read it so READ IT).

-All-in-all the story doesn't take itself that seriously while the author takes flippancy very seriously. It's a light read to just enjoy yourself and escape into the rabbit hole.

this is the only story on this site that I have read twice.

Overall 5/5: a funny, original and relaxing story. with a fighting mc that is not op and is female.

Character 4/5: the mc is one of my favourite characters ever! probably because she feels like a female version of myself. but the rest of the characters is so far undeveloped and is mostly there to react to the mc's weirdness(which is a lot of fun) .

Story 3.5/5: it lacks an overarking plot, but it doesn't need it because of the humour. I think the bigger problem is that the game world is lacking in lore and doesn't feel alive enough. another problem is that the angel is ruining the sense of mystery and discovery. a minor problem is that mc sometimes knows things about the game for no reason, for example the fact that her pets will be reset on death.

Style/Grammar 5/5: it is good, I can't really give you any constructive criticism here.

Game mechanics 4.5/5: I really like the skills system in this story, both how they are obtained and how they evolve. you have the best concept for the fame stat of all VR-storys I have read so far, but I am unclear how the rest of the stats work.

Can’t get enough!!!

Reviewed at: Chapter 77

I felt like I was playing/going on an adventure while reading this, and I don't really want it to stop! The author created such a fun, exciting world with real characters. Very relateable! If only I could play Fantasia too! I love the pets, the humour, puns, polls, Pokémon and other informational add-ons. The pace of the story itself is great, along with the character development (still on-going). Romance is not rushed, nor is it too much. The amazing grammar just makes it perfect for me. The author's quirkiness is a plus too ❤️.

An excellent story about a girl in a VR game doing what she do. She bumbles and fumbles but the writer  always has a way to make it funny. The only complaint I can raise is like many good stories it leaves you wanting more and the wait time for the next fix/chapter can be excruciating but worth it in the end so I give 5 stars.
