Thrown into a world of swords and magic with nothing but the clothes on his back, Liam is forced to give his all to survive. As he continues his adventures, monsters and humans alike stand in his way. Just like his peers, he struggles to make ends meet, but all that changes when he discovers an ancient tomb. Hidden away for centuries, the tomb lies in wait for him to stumble upon it and realize that the world is not as simple as it seems.

Author Note: This is currently a secondary story for me and I'm basically writing it for the fun of it. In other words, releases may be sporadic while I focus on Hidden Forge. However, I will put more effort into this story as well if there is a good response from the community.

Edit: I've decided to work on both Ancientblood and Hidden Forge equally. For Ancientblood, the release schedule will be Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 4 p.m. EST.

QUIKSILVER201's review is not accurate.

He did steal... but considering he was dropped into a medieval world with only the clothes on his back it is understandable. The juxtaposition of "the first solution in his mind is murder" and "leading a horde of monster at a city / some kids" imply that he premeditately lead a horde of monsters to the city to murder the city. Those are in fact two unrelated things, he considered killing a group of fellow earth abductees who were stalking him (when explicitly told they will be rewarded for PvP by the system; so it was possible they were trying to hunt him), but then decided to run away from them instead.

And he didn't intentionally pull monsters to attack the city. Rather, everyone who got dropped in the new world went to the adventurer guild per the advice of their adbuctors, MC included, and then went out hunting monsters which turned out to be a lot harder than it sounds. MC was unlucky and got chasd by a horde of monsters and ran to the city in the hope that high level adventurers could help, in the way he came across a fellow group of adults who were in the process of being eaten by another powerful monster and pulled the two groups together so that the monsters will fight each other. It worked (the monsters never went towards the city either after fighting each other). The other group of adventurers were frozen in fear and panic and didn't bother running away, so they eventually got killed by the monsters.

As for being a psycho and the allegation that the author thinks all soldiers are psycho... MC actually literally was a psycho initially. Brain damaged psychopath incapable of feeling any emotions at all (not even lust, making him asexual), which is explicitly stated to be different than his military buddies. It motivated him to join the military in the first place, but didn't work out as he was court martialed for his misbehavior and dishonorably discharged. Very early on he gets magical healing for a broken arm which also coincidentally cures his brain too making him not psycho anymore. And then he has to struggle with his new set of emotions and how they relate to his existing personality and memories.

To be honest I don't know why the author did that, it is really hard to relate to such a character and is less interesting than it sounds.

It's a pretty good start so far :) need more chapter to enter the real start of the plot, so im waiting now :p

Pick a different previous job maybe psycho.

A marine with 15 years experience immediately resorts to theft and the first solution in his mind is outright murder. Leading a horde of monsters straight at a city because he is an idiot, but turns off his path to lead it straight at some kids. If you have no knowledge of the military and think they're all blood covered rambos this is for you.

As of Chapter 12. It seems rare these days to have an MC that actually makes some decisions with the knowledge that others could have less than desirable intentions. In this story, the MC actually hides his abilities so that others won't realize that he is more than a side character. Overall, it is looking quite good right now.

Great potential and interesting

Interesting story. Much still to be fleshed out but with good basics already established. The MC is not an idiot or suddenly god-like. No inherent cheats but gains strength through decisions and luck(so far). Overall, it is worth reading but the chapters are a tad short.

An interesting story!

A realistic outlook to the story rather than our usual cliché of protag being summoned to King to be one of his pawns. It is getting very interesting to see our MC to get stronger and doesn't think twice to get people killed for his well-being. The story is full of mystery and will surely attract attention and I am hoping that this becomes one of the Kingdom-building ones so well fingers crossed!

Over all, well written, and the chapters are developed enough to allow for a reader to really get involved in the stories.  Characters are believable and have personalities, although Liam feels a bit blocky.

The plot is working so far and feels a bit slow, but very nicely developed, even if as the author states, it's sort of jazzy.  I'll keep following this story :)

It’s fantastic so far (chapter 11). The main character isn’t op. But also not an inbred. Good pace to the sort as well.
